About Us
This service originally started out in 2015 with just Dr Marchi and Amber. Both had worked emergency and recognized the need for a better way for families say good-bye to their beloved pets. Clinics have strange smells and sounds, and most pets are at least anxious, if not afraid, of going there. Pets live in the moment, and that is not a good last moment. We have seen the true difference it makes for both the pets and their people to be at home for this.
Their favorite bed, all the family, all the treats. Privacy. Respect. Dignity. That is what we have been able to bring, and we are proud to be of service.

When it was just Dr Marchi and Amber, we were simply named "Dr Marchi, Pet Euthanasia at Home". Over the years we have grown, and other doctors are now helping. Feeling it was time to grow our name as well, we decided on Bedside Vet, in order to reflect the caring, at-home bedside manner we do our best to bring.
Dr Joseph Marchi, DVM and Amber Marchi, RVT
- owners and operators

Since graduating from Western University of Health Sciences in 2012, Dr Marchi completed an internship at VCA AVCC in Lawndale, and worked mostly overnight emergency shifts. After seeing countless cases of euthanasia in a very high stress situation, he saw the need to provide compassionate at home euthanasia service for anyone who requested it. In 2015, Dr Marchi, Pet Euthanasia at Home was created, and we have helped many people since then. In 2025, we updated our business name to Bedside Vet.

Amber is a registered veterinary technician with 20 years of experience in the field, mostly in ER and always with a passion for exotics - birds, reptiles, rodents, etc.
We have both been pet lovers our entire lives with a menagerie of our own, and know from our own experience how hard it is to have to say goodbye to a loved one. We are passionate about what we do, and are honored to help you and yours when it is time.
Dr Thuy-Vi Nguyen, DVM
- Associate doctor
Dr. Thuy-Vi Nguyen is originally from the Bay Area and is a proud graduate of UC Santa Cruz and Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, completing her clinical year at the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine.
Dr Nguyen and Dr. Marchi met during their internship at VCA Advanced Veterinary Care Center in Los Angeles. She continued on to the emergency and specialty field for over 10 years, and then moved on to rescue/shelter medicine. She has assisted with at-home end-of-life care with Dr Marchi over the years, and has recently come on full time to help with this.
Dr. Nguyen enjoys using her experience in the critical care field to help owners navigate through difficult decisions with compassion for her patients. She is also a full-time mom to a young daughter and a pet parent to a house full of animals. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, cooking and fitness classes.

Dr Sara Hall, DVM
- Associate doctor
I grew up in the Fingerlakes region of New York state and always knew my path involved the care of animals. This led me to degrees in marine biology and zoology before ultimately obtaining my veterinary degree at Tufts University in 2006.
Much of my work has been in the emergency medicine field. I have met many people on one of the worst days of their life when they have needed to bring their fur baby in for severe illness or injury. Helping pets pass peacefully is the last gift we can give to them and, through in-home euthanasia, I can help give that peace to families and their loved ones in an environment where they feel safe and loved.
My career has taken me all over the country from New York to Florida to Arizona and finally to California where I have built a life. In my free time I enjoy baking, going to Disneyland, and spending time with my dog Freddie.
